WATCH: Stephen Colbert mourns his sister's House race loss
Businesswoman Elizabeth (Lulu) Colbert Busch (D) lost a special election for an open South Carolina congressional seat to former Gov. Mark Sanford (R-S.C.), and nobody is more upset about it than Colbert Busch's brother, Stephen Colbert. On his eponymous Comedy Central show Wednesday night, Colbert expressed his displeasure with the voters of his home state, and even tried to ditch the Palmetto State for the other Carolina.
"I am a Tar Heel now — whatever the f**k that means," Colbert tells his audience. He then tries to disavow South Carolina's "tangy, savory, juicy, and deeply delicious BBQ" for the "sauceless, vinegar-based meat product" that North Carolina tries to pass off as BBQ. Lulu's loss so shook up Colbert that he even waxes poetic about the problems of partisanship, in the second segment of the show. Watch:
