Best websites for finding a trustworthy babysitter
Sittercity.com, Care.com, Babysitters4Hire.com, and more
Sittercity.com is a 10-year-old nationwide service that partners with the Red Cross on health issues. The site uses extensive background checks to screen potential sitters and nannies before it posts profiles online.
Care.com works similarly: Post an ad detailing your child-care needs and you’ll get dozens of responses from applicants prescreened to fit the bill.
Babysitters4Hire.com has offered a similar service for years, and is endorsed by “Dr. Phil himself.”

eNannySource.com features a “Safe Nanny Hiring Kit.” As you sort candidates, the kit “helps you keep track of what screening you’ve done on each nanny.”
SeekingSitters.com does more of the work for you. Send in what you’re looking for in a sitter or nanny, and they’ll have a suitable candidate contact you directly.
