At long last, the winner of the first Best Picture Oscar is available on Blu-ray and DVD, said the Fresno, Calif., Bee. Clara Bow and Gary Cooper appear in this 1927 drama about World War I fighter pilots. “Beautifully restored,” it deserves space on the shelf of “any lover of movies.”

Laurence Fishburne was “extraordinary” on stage in his one-man show about former Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, said the New York Daily News. In HBO’s recording, Fishburne’s Marshall is sometimes a bemused raconteur, and yet he delivers every line with “purpose and pride.”
