Stolen car lands on rooftop

Residents of a Fresno, Calif., apartment building were stunned when a stolen car ended up on their roof. Police said the driver of the vehicle was fleeing in foggy conditions when he struck a curb, bounced off rocks and a tree stump, and became airborne. The car landed about 20 feet off the ground on the building’s roof. “At first I thought it was a prank, like you’ve been punked or something,” said resident Jeanell Ricks. “That’s not something you see every day.” The car was later removed with a crane.

Beijing's new eating house

A toilet-themed restaurant has opened in Beijing. The eatery, named The Sh--house, serves a range of Asian dishes inspired by the lavatorial experience, which are presented to diners in replica toilets and bedpans. “We were discussing one of the worst restaurants we’d ever eaten in and one of us said it was a real toilet,” said co-owner Feng Lu. “So we decided to see if we could make a restaurant that was just one big toilet. We can’t quite believe how successful it’s been. Now we’re talking about opening a chain.”
