Show of the week: Triggers: Weapons That Changed the World
Wil Willis, an ex-special-ops soldier, discusses the evolution of firearms.
Hosted by ex-special-ops soldier Wil Willis, this new series is like the car-enthusiast show Top Gear—except that it’s not about cars, it’s about the evolution of firearms. In the debut episode, Willis focuses on what may be the most influential gun of the 20th century: the Colt M1911, the standard-issue sidearm of the U.S. military from World War I through Vietnam. A former Marine sniper and a master armorer join Willis to test various handguns and to re-enact Sgt. Alvin York’s famed World War I charge against a German machine gun nest.
