PriceGrabber.com should be the first price-comparison engine you try when bargain hunting. It finds the lowest price on a given item more consistently than any of its rivals do, and it will calculate tax and shipping costs. “Don’t see a price you like? Click on ‘Add Price Alert,’ and the site will send you an e-mail if the price drops.
Google.com/products also excels at finding a given item’s rock-bottom price. Its presentation of search results can be easily customized. You can view results with or without photos, for instance, or see only offers that include free shipping.
Nextag.com offers millions of user reviews on the products you’re shopping for. “Also, a price-history graph shows how much an item’s price has gone up or down recently, so you can gauge whether to hold out for a better deal.”
