Daily pizza habit saves elderly woman
Every day for the past three years, Jean Wilson of Memphis has ordered a pepperoni pizza from Domino’s, and Susan Guy has delivered it. So when Guy didn’t get an order from the elderly woman for several days, she drove by to investigate. After getting no response from knocking on the door and querying neighbors who hadn’t seen Wilson, she called 911. It turned out Wilson had fallen and been unable to reach a phone to call for help. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover. “She treats us really well,” Guy said. “She appreciates us, and that’s something we don’t get in customers a lot.”

Daniel Morales, a homeless man in New York City, used a cell phone and a Twitter account—which a charity had given him to raise awareness of homelessness—to bring his family together. Having amassed more than 3,000 followers on Twitter, he asked them to help him find his daughter, Sarah Rivera, whom he hadn’t seen in 11 years. Soon enough, he got a phone call from her. “When I first saw the tweet I was like, ‘This can’t be,’” Rivera said. “All these years I looked for him, and somehow he found me.” Morales said he has met his two grandchildren: “This is amazing. I’m full of joy.”
Dolphins rescue a Doberman
Turbo, an 11-year-old Doberman from Marco Island, Fla., has a pod of watchful dolphins to thank for saving his life. A day after Turbo’s owner, Cindy Burnett, noticed the dog was missing, Sam Dalessandro saw some dolphins making a lot more noise than usual as he was loading his boat on a nearby canal. They drew his attention to an exhausted Turbo, who may have been treading water for more than 15 hours. Dalessandro called 911, and firefighters rescued the dog. “If it wasn’t for the dolphins, I would have never seen the dog,” said Dalessandro.
