Set in a mental ward and starring Zach Galifianakis and newcomer Keir Gilchrist, it’s a coming-of-age story that’s “dryly funny” without ever mining the patients’ problems for “cheap laughs.” The film ends up being “strangely life-affirming without cloying its way to that level.”

Fritz Lang’s silent “sci-fi masterpiece” is an “absolute must” for genre fans, said Salon.com. Set in a capitalist, urban dystopia, the 1927 German film explores a sharp social division between workers and employers. This restored edition features 25 minutes of recently rediscovered footage along with a new recording of Gottfried Huppertz’s “hypnotic” score.

Michael Jordan fans will “be in heaven” with this “exceptional tribute” to the athlete who was arguably the best basketball player ever, said the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. The seven-disc collection includes complete broadcasts of five of his greatest games and a series of highlight films that capture various phases of his remarkable career.
