Roman Polanski’s The Ghost Writer is a “terrifically tense and twisty thriller,” said Entertainment Weekly. Ewan McGregor “gives his best performance in years” as an author hired to write the memoirs of a prime minister (Pierce Brosnan). The DVD includes an interview with Polanski.

Elvis: 75th Anniversary Collection

Celebrate Elvis’ 75th birthday with a trip to the movies, said The Seattle Times. This box set assembles 17 of the King’s films, including Jailhouse Rock, Viva Las Vegas, and a restored, remastered version of the documentary Elvis on Tour, the singer’s last film before his 1977 death.

Errol Flynn “goes to war” in this collection, said The Kansas City Star. When World War II came, Flynn “took his dashing cinematic heroics” to the skies, battlefields, and war-torn beaches. Turner Classic Movies compiles five of his combat films as well as newsreels and cartoons from the 1940s.
