San Diego family finds naked man asleep on couch
A San Diego family is recovering from the shock of finding a naked man asleep on their couch. The condominium owner awakened to find the sleeping intruder, then retreated to his bedroom, armed himself, and instructed his wife to dial 911. The intruder told police he had been drinking the previous evening and thought he had gone to sleep in his own condo, 20 miles away. “We think it was an honest mistake,” said a police spokesman.

Madonna is having her hands treated to make them look younger, says the London Daily Mirror. The 51-year-old pop star’s plastic surgeon has “managed to work wonders with her face,’’ says a source, but she “hates the appearance of her hands and says they are too ‘old lady.’” So Madonna has begun a course of “sclerotherapy”—injections to eradicate her prominent hand veins—and will wear gloves in public until she gets results. “She won’t be photographed for ages with her hands on show,’’ said the source.
Dairy cows take to Shakespeare
British researchers have found that exposing cows to Shakespeare can increase milk production by up to 4 percent. While a British dairy herd stood by, idly chewing, a theater troupe performed scenes from Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor. The cows responded by giving more milk, so the herd’s owner asked the troupe’s director, Rob Forknall, to use the dairy yard for all rehearsals. “It saves us having to book rehearsal space,” says Forknall, “and the farmer’s very pleased to get more milk.”
