Shutter Island
(Paramount, $30)
Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island harks back to classic Hollywood noirs, said The New Yorker. The psychological thriller, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as a detective investigating a disappearance at a remote mental institution, “plumbs the terrors not merely of the personal psyche and of society at large but also of the cinema itself.”

Bob Hope: Thanks for the Memories Collection
(Universal, $40)
This collection offers “fresh insight into the development of one of America’s most revered and culturally resonant comedians,” said The New York Times. Highlights include the thriller The Cat and the Canary and The Road to Morocco, Hope’s third comic collaboration with Bing Crosby.

Timed to coincide with the film’s release, this DVD collection is packaged in a box shaped like the team’s van.
