A U.S. conservative group has launched an effort to erase the “liberal bias’’ from English translations of the Bible. The Wikipedia-style Conservative Bible Project invites users to comb existing translations, editing instances of the “gender-inclusive language” that has “emasculated” Christianity; replacing “socialistic” words like “comrade” and “laborer”; and clarifying any ambiguous passages that might perpetuate “the pervasive and hurtful myth that Jesus would be a political liberal today.”
