The state of Israel has apologized to the Beatles for banning them from performing there in 1965. The government refused to grant permits for a concert 43 years ago, saying the band’s music could corrupt the morals of Israeli youth. “We should like to take this opportunity to correct the historic omission,” said the letter, which was sent to Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the survivors of John Lennon and of George Harrison. The country invited McCartney and Starr to perform at its 60th anniversary celebration in May.
Adnan Ghalib, Britney Spears’ on-again, off-again boyfriend, is trying to sell private video footage of the pop star for $2 million, said the London News of the World. The videos allegedly show Spears “ranting, raving, and weeping,” a source tells the paper. On one video, Spears looks at the camera and says, “When Britney was a child, she had to work really hard. When she was 13 years old, she won all the beauty pageants.” In another clip, she says, “Britney wants to live. I’m not crazy.” Ghalib denied trying to sell any videos.
Singer Amy Winehouse checked into rehab last week after a 20-minute video surfaced showing her apparently smoking crack and snorting cocaine and Ecstasy. “Amy decided to enter the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family, and doctors,” said her record company in a statement. Winehouse had already taken what she called a “detox trip” to the Caribbean shortly before the video was filmed.

Sylvester Stallone has no regrets about injecting human growth hormone to prepare for his latest performance as Rambo. “HGH is nothing,” the actor told Time. “Everyone over 40 years old should investigate it, because it increases the quality of your life. Mark my words. In 10 years, it will be over-the-counter.” Stallone was fined $10,000 for bringing the legal substance into Australia without a permit last May.
