BAD DAY FOR: Lone Star pride, after Illinois beat Texas in a bid to host the $1.8 billion FutureGen experimental coal-based power plant. The public-private partnership, 75 percent taxpayer supported, aims to generate electricity through hydrogen gas stripped from coal, then bury the carbon dioxide emissions underground.
