Efficiency, after an official from Canada’s Royal Ontario Museum, who was seeking a rare skeleton of the 80-foot-long Barosaurus, found one without the help of paleontologists—in fact without even leaving the building. The museum had acquired just such a skeleton in 1962, but forgot about it and put it in storage.

Anthony and Antonietta Marrocco, of Ontario, Canada, who hit the $13,000 jackpot at a local casino and then, the next day, won $18.5 million in the state lottery. The Marroccos, who live on a farm, say they have no extravagant plans for the money, least of all a lavish vacation. “We don’t like to fly,” explained Anthony. “We like it where we are.”

Dennis Kucinich, after an international group of two dozen pilots and military officers demanded the U.S. government begin a new investigation of UFOs. The pilots said they had seen flying discs and glowing spheres themselves and accused the government of covering up hundreds of unexplained sightings.

Bad week for:

Hillary Clinton, whose campaign was forced to admit it had fed softball questions to audience members at a public event in Iowa. College student Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff said a Clinton staffer had showed her a binder of questions that the campaign was planting in the audience. A Clinton spokeswoman said “this was something that just happened on this one occasion,” promising more spontaneity in the future.

Jay Leno and David Letterman, who chose to honor picket lines from the Hollywood writer’s strike, thereby forfeiting $520,000 and $600,000 in weekly salary, respectively.

Perspective, after actress Sienna Miller complained that designers are always sending her and other celebrities free clothes. Miller said her home is now filled with unwanted shoes, dresses, and unopened bags. “It gets too much sometimes,” Miller said.
