The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals struck down the 2006 fuel-efficiency standards set by the Bush administration, ruling that they didn’t adequately account for greenhouse-gas emissions. The court also ordered the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to explain why it treats “light trucks”—vans, pick-ups, and SUVs—more leniently than cars. (AP in Yahoo!
