Hunters gunned down
The week's news at a glance.
Agrinio, Greece
Five young men—two brothers and three cousins—were murdered last week while hunting in a tranquil area of rural Greece. Police said each had been shot once from a distance with a high-powered rifle, and then once again at close range. A few hours before the bodies were found, the youngest victim, 17, used his cell phone to call his father, but the call was cut off before he could speak. "I now realize he was probably running for his life," his father said. Police said the victims might have been stalked by someone with a grudge; family members believe the five stumbled onto criminal activity and were killed to prevent them from talking.
