A Russian filmmaker said this week he is shooting a film parodying the leaders of the Ukrainian and Georgian “color revolutions.” In Alexander Valov’s “politico-erotic” thriller, actors playing Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will appear in a sex scene. The film, sponsored by ultranationalist Vladimir Zhirinovsky’s party, is meant to discredit the idea of democratic revolutions. Georgian officials have not commented on the plan. But Ukrainian Deputy State Secretary Markiyan Lubkivsky called it “a clear provocation” that went “beyond the limits of decency.” Both Saakashvili and Tymoshenko are married.
