Rome
Three passengers on a KLM flight were arrested this week after they claimed to be hijacking the plane. The three men, believed to be Egyptian, were flying from Amsterdam to Rome. Shortly before the plane was about to land, one of them got up and walked toward the cockpit, saying, “This is a hijacking.” He quickly added that he was just kidding, but the crew was not amused. “In these times, we don’t find that kind of joke so funny,” said KLM spokesman Bart Koster. “We handed them directly over to Italian police.”
