Al Qaida brags of bombings

Mombasa, Kenya
Al Qaida claimed responsibility this week for two recent attacks on Israelis in Kenya. Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, a spokesman for the terror group, said in a tape recording on Jehad.com that the failed missile attack on an Israeli airplane and the bombing of a Mombasa resort frequented by Israelis were al Qaida works. “The Christian-Jewish alliance will not, God willing, be safe from attacks,” he said. “The next phase will witness bigger and more lethal operations.” Kenyan police official William Langat released sketches, drawn from witness accounts, of two suspects in the attacks, whom he described as “Arab-looking.” Many eastern Kenyans are of mixed Arab and African ancestry.
