Warlord’s wife wows crowd

Belgrade
The pop star widow of the notorious war criminal Arkan staged a triumphant comeback this week before 100,000 fans at Marakana soccer stadium in Belgrade. Ceca Raznatovic is Serbia's most famous folksinger and the widow of the ruthless man who led Serbian paramilitaries in the ethnic cleansing of Bosnia and Croatia. Marakana holds a special meaning for Arkan supporters, since it was there that he recruited his paramilitaries from among soccer hooligans. 'œThis Marakana concert was one of the wishes of my late husband,' Raznatovic said. 'œI'll never marry again.' Arkan, whose real name was Zeljko Raznatovic, was assassinated in 2000 before he could be sent to the war crimes tribunal, and his widow had not sung since.
