Innovation of the week: The smartest suitcase ever?
Meet Raden
"Smart luggage can make your trip to the airport a lot less frustrating," said Sean O'Kane at The Verge. Raden, "the most slickly designed smart suitcase yet," comes packed with convenient features.
A weight sensor in the handle lets travelers weigh their luggage simply by lifting it up; Raden's companion app then alerts users if they're approaching their airline's weight limit. There are two built-in USB ports for charging devices, which means no more fighting over outlets in the terminal. Raden can also send alerts to your smartphone via Bluetooth if the bag has been left behind, and in some cases tell you "where the suitcase is if you've lost it." The company's "A Series" model comes in two sizes, a 22-inch version for carrying on and a 28-inch model for checking, at $295 and $395, respectively.
