After Hillary Clinton accepted her party's nomination Thursday night at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, a torrent of patriotic balloons and confetti dropped from the ceiling. Clinton appeared downright delighted by the colorful storm.
Is it that astounding to be doused by a Macy's Day Parade-worth of ticker tape and inflated rubber? Most of us will never know. But if these photos from the past 30 years of political conventions' closings are any indication, the experience is a fast track back to childhood.
