Genesis GV60 review: what the car critics say
It is expensive, but the GV60 is up there with the best EVs

The GV60 is the first bespoke EV from Hyundai’s luxury offshoot Genesis, said Evo. It’s a quirky model that shares the same E-GMP architecture as Hyundai’s Ioniq, including the 800-volt charging that allows for a 10-80% top-up in just 18 minutes. It will be available in three trims: Premium, which is rear-wheel drive; all-wheel drive Sport; and all-wheel drive Sport Plus. All have a 77.4kWh battery pack.

The Premium GV60 has a 321-mile range, LED lights, 19in alloys and twin 12.3in screens, said Auto Express. And while it doesn’t have quite the punch of the top-spec models, its 226bhp and 320Nm of torque feels enough, and the intuitive regenerative brakes are fantastic. And its smaller wheels offer a smoother ride than you get from the complex camera-linked adaptive damping in the Sport Plus model.

It is expensive, but the GV60 is up there with the best EVs, said The Daily Telegraph. Front seats are comfy and supportive, and top models get air pockets which inflate at speed to support the driver and passenger. Space isn’t over-generous in the back, however, and boot capacity is only 430 litres. Genesis cars come with a five-year care plan, plus a personal assistant who will be on hand through the buying process and beyond. UK price: from £47,005.
