1. Taylor Swift doesn't want fans to attack her exes
Dear Swifties: Don't give John Mayer the Jake Gyllenhaal treatment, Taylor Swift says. Before she performed "Dear John" as a surprise song in Minneapolis on Saturday, Swift urged fans not to attack its alleged subject online. The track, which will be on the "Speak Now" re-recording, is believed to be about her ex-boyfriend John Mayer. "I'm not putting this album out so that you should feel the need to defend me on the internet against someone you think I might have written a song about 14 billion years ago," she said. "I do not care. We have all grown up." She seems to be hoping history doesn't repeat itself after fans attacked Gyllenhaal in 2021 when she re-released "All Too Well," which is seemingly about him. "I'm 33 years old," Swift stressed, adding that she's not preoccupied with things that "happened to me when I was 19." Great, now you tell us, 11 years into our search for The Scarf.
2. Olivia Rodrigo's sophomore album "Guts" to drop in September
Olivia Rodrigo is about to spill her guts. The "Drivers License" singer has revealed her sophomore album is titled "Guts," and it will drop on Sept. 8. This will be her follow-up to 2021's hugely popular "Sour," though she passed up the opportunity to call her next album "Sweet," as pretty much everyone expected. "Making this album was very daunting, very fun, and very fulfilling," Rodrigo said on her Instagram story. "I can't wait for it to be yours. Here's to all the good times ahead." Like with "Sour," the cover photo for "Guts" shows Rodrigo in front of a purple background, this time lying on the floor with the album's title spelled out via rings on her fingers. Her new single "Vampire," which may or may not touch on her well-documented "Twilight" fandom, drops this Friday. Beyond that song, we're assuming the rest of the album is an extensive tribute to the game show "Nickelodeon Guts." Do you have it?

3. Jon Hamm gets married at "Mad Men" filming location
Jon Hamm and his fiancée have tied the knot where it all started — and where "Mad Men" ended. The actor married Anna Osceola on Saturday, and their wedding was held at Anderson Canyon in California, TMZ reports. If photos from the ceremony look familiar, it's because that's where the finale of "Mad Men" was shot. In the series' last scene, Hamm's Don Draper comes up with the idea for an ad while meditating on a cliff during his stay at a spiritual retreat. Hamm and Osceola met on the show, as she had a small role as a receptionist at that retreat. They dated for about two years, and People confirmed their engagement in February. According to TMZ, Hamm's former "Mad Men" co-star John Slattery attended the wedding, where the band played "You Only Live Twice," the James Bond theme that was also memorably used on the show. All that was missing was someone getting run over by a lawnmower.
4. Angela Bassett is getting an honorary Oscar
It's finally time for Angela Bassett to do the thing by receiving an Academy Award. The actress will get an honorary Oscar at this year's Governors Awards, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced. "Across her decades-long career, Angela Bassett has continued to deliver transcendent performances that set new standards in acting," Academy President Janet Yang said. Notably, this comes a few months after Bassett failed to win an Oscar for "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," as Jamie Lee Curtis took it instead for "Everything Everywhere All at Once." Bassett was also nominated for "What's Love Got to Do with It" in 1994 but lost to Holly Hunter for "The Piano." The other honorary Oscar recipients this year will be Mel Brooks and film editor Carol Littleton, while the Sundance Institute's Michelle Satter will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. The ceremony is set for Nov. 18, and one can only assume Ariana DeBose is already being asked to show up for a rap.

5. "The Flash" had a horrible 2nd weekend at the box office
"The Flash" has gone from bad to "Morbius." After already having a terrible debut, the DC superhero film's second weekend was even worse. "The Flash" fell from first to third place at the domestic box office, grossing just $15.3 million. That was an awful decline of about 72% from its first weekend, putting the film behind "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," which opened two weeks earlier. "The Flash" also came in behind "Elemental," even though the Pixar film had a much smaller opening. A second weekend decline this steep generally reflects poor word of mouth, and this was one of the worst ever for a superhero movie. For comparison, the well-received "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" had a strong 47.6% second weekend decline, while the poorly received "Morbius" suffered a 73.8% drop. But unlike "The Flash," at least "Morbius" wasn't hyped up as one of the greatest superhero films in history. Help us, James Gunn: You're our only hope.
