The agent of Diego Costa has held what the Daily Star describes as "preliminary talks with AC Milan" about the Chelsea forward moving to Italy.

It is clear that the Spanish striker will be leaving Stamford Bridge this summer, but where he'll end up remains to be seen.

He had hoped to return to Atletico Madrid but their transfer embargo means they can't make a play for Costa until January. China is another option but the Star says that Costa wants to remain in Europe and that may be made possible by AC Milan.

Meanwhile there is a shock revelation in the London Evening Standard with the paper reporting the story in respected French outlet, Le10Sport, which claims that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is "looking to trump any Arsenal bid for Monaco star Kylian Mbappe".

It had been reported that the 18-year-old frontman was poised to knock back interest from both the Gunners and Real Madrid, but apparently the Blues believe they have what it takes to lure Europe's most talented teenager from Monaco.

The Standard says that Chelsea "hope to step up negotiations when France and England meet in an international friendly next week", and the Premier League champs are ready to exploit Monaco's interest in Michy Batshuayi in any potential deal.
