1. ESTATE COULD BE OLYMPIC MISSILE SITE

The Ministry of Defence could place surface-to-air missiles on residential flats in an east London estate during the Olympic Games. Residents have received a leaflet informing them their estate could be the base for defence against potential airborne terror attacks.

2. TORIES AT LOWEST EBB FOR NINE YEARS

A YouGov poll suggests that support for the Conservative Party is at its lowest level since 2004. The party is on 29% in the poll, compared to the Labour Party at 40%. In a separate poll, for The Sunday Telegraph, just 4% of black voters said they identified with the Tories.

3. BRITAIN'S RICH GETTING RICHER

Britain's wealthiest people are richer than they have ever been with a combined fortune of £414billion, reveals The Sunday Times Rich List. It shows that the UK's 1,000 richest men and women have increased their wealth by 4.7% from last year’s total of £395.8billion.

4. ISRAEL PM 'MISLEADING' OVER IRAN

The Israeli leadership is "misleading the public" on the effectiveness of a possible military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, claims the former head of Israel's domestic intelligence agency. Yuval Diskin says that an attack might accelerate Iran's attempt to build a bomb.

5. PM FACES LEVESON DISCOMFORT

Emails between David Cameron and senior News International figures implicated in the phone-hacking scandal may be revealed to the Leveson inquiry. Rebekah Brooks, who is under police investigation, is said to be prepared to disclose communications between herself and the Prime Minister.

6. DOWNPOUR PROMPTS FLOOD WARNINGS

Warnings of flood risks and other disruption have been issued as Britain faces torrential rain and winds of up to 70mph on Sunday. The Environment Agency has issued several flood warnings and the Met Office has issued a "be prepared" warning for Wales and much of south, central and eastern England.

7. LEBANON HOLDS 'SYRIAN ARMS' SHIP

The Lebanese navy is holding a ship carrying what is believed to be a large consignment of weapons for the rebels in Syria. Some of the arms found in the Sierra Leone-registered vessel were labelled as Libyan, say reports. Eleven crew members have been detained.

8. BORIS CALLS FOR TAX CUTS

Boris Johnson has called for more tax cuts and described Chancellor George Osborne as "the jaws of death" in an interview with The Sunday Telegraph. Ahead of this week's mayoral election, Johnson promised to cut council tax if re-elected as London mayor.

9. WEST END SIEGE SUSPECT CHARGED

The Metropolitan Police have charged a man with false imprisonment, issuing a bomb hoax and possession of a weapon following Friday's siege in central London. Michael Green, 48, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Monday.

10. GARETH BALE IN QUIT WARNING

Clubs across Europe are on alert after Tottenham's coveted star Gareth Bale said he will consider his options if the north London side fail to qualify for the Champions League. The £50m-rated winger said if Spurs don't qualify, "we’ll have to sit down and discuss it".
