1. Cameron 'puzzled' by Iain Duncan Smith's resignation
David Cameron says he is "puzzled and disappointed" by Iain Duncan Smith’s decision to quit as work and pensions secretary. Duncan Smith said £4bn cuts to disability benefits were "not defensible" in a budget that benefited higher earning taxpayers. The PM said they had "collectively agreed" on the proposals, which he said the government would now not press on with "in their current form".
2. Sixty-two killed as Dubai jet crashes in southern Russia
Fifty-five passengers and seven crew members were killed when a plane from Dubai crashed while attempting to land in southern Russia. "The aircraft hit the ground and broke into pieces," said investigators. The Boeing 737-800, operated by the budget flydubai airline, was flying from Dubai to the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don.
3. Female voters 'will prevent Trump becoming president'
Analysts are saying Donald Trump’s unpopularity among female voters will stop him from becoming US president. A Reuters poll published this week shows that half the female electorate holds a “very unfavourable” view of the twice-divorced tycoon. During a bitter campaign, The Donald has described women of America as bimbos, fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals.

4. Government 'delaying Chilcot until after EU poll'
David Cameron has delayed publication of the Chilcot Report into Iraq War until after the EU referendum. According to the Daily Telegraph, it is believed that public trust in politicians could be significantly undermined by the report and the PM does not wish to risk this ahead of the 23 June poll. The delay was criticised by families of those who died in the conflict.
5. Hulk Hogan wins privacy case against Gawker
Hulk Hogan has been awarded $115m in his sex tape lawsuit against Gawker. Jurors had heard how Hogan, 62, had not been contacted by the website before it posted a nine-second video clip of the wrestler with the wife of his friend, DJ Bubba “The Love Sponge” Clem. The verdict may re-shape how the media covers celebrities.
6. Brighton house prices soar by 500 per cent
House prices have surged by nearly 500 per cent in Brighton and Hove in the past two decades, according to the Office for National Statistics. Average prices in the south-coast town jumped from £50,000 in 1995 to £295,000 in 2015. The increase was the biggest in England and Wales, followed by Cambridge, which enjoyed a 414 per cent rise in the same period.
7. President Obama set for historic visit to Cuba
President Obama is due this weekend to become the first sitting president to visit Cuba for 88 years. Washington unveiled new measures this week, making it easier for US citizens to go to Cuba and do business there. Obama will visit Havana in a move aimed to ease relations between the former Cold War foes. US officials said it “signals a new beginning between our two countries and peoples”.
8. Prince Harry hopes Diana 'has tears in her eyes'
Prince Harry says he believes his late mother would be "longing" for him to have children so she "can be a grandmother again". Speaking to US TV show Good Morning America, the 31-year-old royal also said: "I hope she's looking down with tears in her eyes, being incredibly proud of what we've established I suppose."
9. Adele reveals she will play Glastonbury this year
Adele has revealed she will headline the Pyramid Stage at this year's Glastonbury Festival. She announced the news live on stage at London's O2. "Who's going to Glastonbury this year?" she asked the audience. "See you there. I'll be there. I'll be headlining on the Saturday night this year." She joins Muse and Coldplay at the top of the bill when the festival takes place in June.
10. Can Leicester extend their Premier League lead?
Leicester City hope to extend their lead in the Premier League when they visit Crystal Palace this afternoon. Earlier, Arsenal will play Everton. Defeat for the Gunners in that tie will see the pressure on boss Arsene Wenger intensify. Bottom-placed Aston Villa are at fellow strugglers Swansea, while Chelsea host West Ham in the London derby.
