1. Blair: crush Islamic State or face greater 'horror'

Tony Blair says Britain must escalate military action to “crush” Islamic State or be faced with a terrorist atrocity “of such size and horror” that it will produce “many more victims” than the atrocities in Brussels and Paris. Writing in The Sunday Times, the former prime minister said: “IS has to be eliminated with greater speed and vigour.”

2. Petraeus says Brexit would harm war on terror

Former CIA chief David Petraeus says a British withdrawal from the EU would weaken the West’s war on terror. Writing for the Sunday Telegraph, he argued: “A Brexit would deal a significant blow to the EU’s strength and resilience at exactly the moment when the West is under attack.” Meanwhile, health secretary Jeremy Hunt has been accused of “scapegoating” after claiming the NHS would be put under threat by a Brexit.

3. Arrests after girl dies as bouncy castle blows away

Two people have been arrested after a girl died when the bouncy castle she was playing in "blew away by some distance" in Essex. Paramedics were called to Harlow Town Park in Essex shortly after 16:00 GMT, East of England Ambulance Service said. The two suspects are being held on suspicion of manslaughter by gross negligence.

4. Bernie Sanders claims two 'landslide' wins

Bernie Sanders has claimed “landslide wins” in Washington and Alaska. The Vermont senator is trying to make up ground after Hillary Clinton took a significant lead in the race. He told supporters: "I knew that we were going to have a hard time in the Deep South, where people are more conservative. But we knew things were going to improve as we headed West."

5. Nick Blackwell in hospital after Eubank defeat

Boxer Nick Blackwell was taken to hospital after defeat to Chris Eubank Jr in their British middleweight title fight in London. The fight was stopped in round 10 on the advice of the doctor. The vanquished champion was taken from the ring on a stretcher. "I hit him with some big shots, maybe the referee should have stopped the fight earlier," said Eubank Jr.

6. Archbishop warns against post-Brussels fear

The Archbishop of Canterbury is to tell worshippers not to give in to fear after the attacks in Brussels. In his Easter Sunday sermon, the Most Rev Justin Welby will say that the events of this week "risk causing us to act fearfully, to see a world in which fear triumphs". But he will add: "On Easter Day hope decisively overcame fear".

7. Sex Pistol Lydon fears he is going blind

Former Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten believes he is losing his sight. The punk legend, whose real name is John Lydon, says he can no longer read and has to “wear glasses on stage so I don’t fall off the edge”. Speaking to The Sunday Times, the 60-year-old said: “Well, it will go, won’t it? If I couldn’t see the world around me that would be a terrific loss.”

8. Snowden says authorities could have stopped Brussels

Whistleblower Edward Snowden says Belgian spies could have stopped the terror attacks in Brussels. The former US National Security Agency worker says Turkey shared information about the killers with Belgian security forces. He also said that Russia warned the US about the Tsarvaev brothers, who were behind the Boston Marathon bombing, but the authorities did not take any action.

9. Croydon confronter Doyle lashes out at police

The man who was charged over tweets about confronting a Muslim woman in Croydon after the Brussels terror attacks has spoken out against police after the charges were dropped. Matthew Doyle told The Guardian: "In reality, the Met added ammunition to whatever I said. They smelt blood, but got egg on both their face and reputation.”

10. England mount magnificent comeback in Berlin

England pulled off a spectacular comeback to beat World Cup holders Germany in Berlin. Germany grabbed a goal either side of the interval, but goals from Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy and Eric Dier sealed the win for Roy Hodgson’s men. The boss said England's comeback win against World Cup holders Germany was his "finest night as England manager".
