F1 2019 provisional grand prix calendar released

Hockenheim remains on the schedule and a deal is extended for the Japanese GP

Formula 1 has released its provisional calendar for the 2019 season - a campaign that will see the 1,000th grand prix take place.

Another highlight of 2019 will be the Chinese Grand Prix on 14 April. The Shanghai race will be F1’s 1,000th since its inception in 1950.

Germany’s Hockenheim circuit remains on the schedule after a new agreement was reached and the Japanese Grand Prix will continue at Suzuka until 2021 after its contract was renewed.

The 2019 British Grand Prix will take place at Silverstone on 14 July. Sky Sports reports that it is the final one scheduled on the circuit’s current contract.

  • 23 June: French GP, Le Castellet
  • 30 June: Austrian GP, Spielberg
  • 14 July: British GP, Silverstone
  • 28 July: German GP, Hockenheim
  • 4 August: Hungarian GP, Budapest
  • 1 September: Belgian GP, Spa
  • 8 September: Italian GP, Monza
  • 22 September: Singapore GP, Singapore
  • 29 September: Russian GP, Sochi
  • 13 October: Japanese GP, Suzuka
  • 27 October: Mexican GP, Mexico City
  • 3 November: United States GP, Austin
  • 17 November: Brazilian GP, Sao Paulo
  • 1 December: Abu Dhabi GP, Yas Marina
