Man City join Liverpool in race to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
Anfield club are also interested in veteran Porto keeper Iker Casillas
Liverpool have a fight on their hands to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, reports talkSPORT, with the broadcaster claiming that Manchester City sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old in action for Lazio on Wednesday evening.
The Reds have long had their eye on the Serbian midfielder but it seems the Sky Blues also fancy a piece of the young playmaker after reports reached them of his impressive displays for Lazio this season. City’s spies would have liked what they saw of Milinkovic-Savic on Wednesday as he helped his side to a 2-1 win over Bologna in Serie A.
The Serbian international joined Lazio from Genk in 2015 and he’s since matured into an integral part of their side, but Jurgen Klopp is believed to be readying a bid for Milinkovic-Savic in January as he looks to strengthen the spine of his side.

City’s interest is more surprising given they already have Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Ilkay Gundogan but Pep Guardiola believes the young Milinkovic-Savic has the potential to become world-class in the right environment.
Talking of world-class, Iker Casillas is being linked with a move to Anfield with ESPN reporting that the Reds will “revive their interest in the 36-year-old in January”.
The news was broken by Spanish rag El Pais, who claim that the veteran goalkeeper is expected to leave Porto after losing his place in the starting line-up to young upstart Jose Sa.
Casillas, who made a name for himself with Real Madrid, believes he still has another couple of years of top-flight football left in him and ESPN say that Jurgen Klopp could offer him a deal although it remains to be seen whether Casillas will be able to nail down a regular spot between the Anfield posts ahead of Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.
