FEMA left red-faced after diverting calls for help to phone sex line

Victims of Hurricane Irma have mistakenly been referred to a phone sex hotline by a US government agency, after the organisation sent out a tweet with an incorrect phone number. Instead of hurricane assistance, callers got a recorded message saying: “Guys, hot ladies are waiting to talk to you”.

Inmates escape, rob shop and return to jail

The authorities in Lexington, Mississippi, have reported that four inmates escaped from Holmes-Humphreys County Correctional Facility, robbed a local shop and then broke back into jail. The inmates allegedly stole cigarettes, lighters, mobile phones and other contraband, with the intention of selling them to other prisoners.

Student survives three days locked in cave

An Indiana University student is recovering after he was mistakenly locked in a cave for three days. Lukas Cavar, 19, who survived by licking water off the walls, said he got separated from other members of the university’s caving club and found the entrance to the cave padlocked when he tried to leave.
