Coutinho to Old Trafford?
The January transfer window often generates wild rumours and the one linking Manchester United with former Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho is by far the most outlandish this month.
According to Caught Offside United have “opened talks over a shock transfer swoop” for Coutinho who only left Liverpool for Barcelona last year.

The Brazil international is said to be unsettled at the Camp Nou and it’s claimed that United, Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing the 26-year-old.
The Manchester Evening News calls the United-Coutinho transfer rumour the “most ridiculous of them all” while Sport Bible says it’s the winner of the “most bizarre transfer of the January window” award.
Real prepare Eriksen move
Spanish giants Real Madrid are being linked with a summer move for Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen. According to the Independent Real have made “initial steps” to sign Eriksen from Spurs in a £100m deal.
Sevilla want Morata on loan
Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata could be on his way back home to Spain. It’s reported that La Liga side Sevilla have held preliminary talks with Morata’s agent about a possible loan deal until the end of the season. (Goal.com)
Sarri: Hudson-Odoi should stay
Another Chelsea star rumoured to be leaving Stamford Bridge is 18-year-old Callum Hudson-Odoi. It’s widely reported that Bayern Munich are keen to sign the winger but Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri wants the youngster to stay. Sarri said: “To stay here is better for him. He is very young but he is improving, especially in the defensive phase. I don’t know the situation with the club but for me he is an important player.” (BBC Sport)
Juve reject Dybala bids
Juventus striker Paulo Dybala was yesterday linked with a move away from Turin and today it’s being reported that the Italian champions have rejected bids from Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain. It’s claimed that Juve would consider selling the 25-year-old Argentine in the summer if they receive a bid of more than £90m. (Daily Express/Tuttosport)
Godin turns down United again
Manchester United’s bid to sign Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin has failed for a second time. The 32-year-old rejected advances from United in the summer and according to reports in Italy he has again “written off a potential move to Manchester”. The Uruguay international is out of contract at the end of the season and is being linked with Inter Milan. (Daily Star)
Quartet target Marseille star
Marseille winger Clinton N’Jie is wanted by Premier League clubs Fulham, Burnley, Cardiff City and Newcastle United. The 25-year-old, who previously played at Tottenham, is available for a loan deal which could become permanent. (Daily Mail)
Rivals battle for Fernandes
Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton are both being linked with a move for Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes. The 24-year-old is a Portugal international. (90min)
Barella in demand
The Daily Mirror reports that Chelsea are “ready to go to war” with Manchester United to sign Caligari midfielder Nicolo Barella. Meanwhile, Goal.com says that Chelsea could face competition from Napoli and Inter Milan for the 21-year-old.
Samp line up Gabbiadini
Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini is wanted by Sampdoria. The Italian side have offered to bring Gabbiadini to Serie A on a loan deal before signing him for £10.75m. (Sky in Italy)
Dembele set for China move
Tottenham and Belgium midfielder Mousa Dembele, 31, is close to agreeing an £11m move to Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan. Spurs striker Vincent Janssen is also set to leave this month. (BBC Sport)
