iPhone X Plus: Apple’s larger flagship model to get LG OLED display
LG rumoured to working on 6.5in screen for the new smartphone

Apple’s flagship iPhone X has only been on sale for two months, but a larger version is already rumoured to be in the works.
Experts believe the new smartphone, dubbed the iPhone X Plus, will come with a 6.5in OLED screen supplied by Korean tech giant LG, reports 9to5 Mac.
That’s an increase of 0.7in over the existing iPhone X, which is equipped with a Samsung-supplied OLED display.

LG plans to ship the displays in the second half of 2018, according to The Korea Herald, and is expected to supply a total of between 15 million and 16 million screens this year.
The relatively small number of screens expected to be produced suggests the rumoured X Plus model may be even more exclusive than the £999 iPhone X, the newspaper adds. Samsung produces around ten million screens a month for Apple’s flagship smartphone.
However, Mashable argues that the news will not be welcomed by Apple fans, as there have been “a whole slew of problems” with the LG OLED panels on Google’s Pixel XL.
Samsung’s OLED panels in the standard Pixel and iPhone X “have not had such problems to the same extent”, the website adds.

According to Alphr, LG is expected to confirm the deal with Apple within the coming days, although a product announcement isn’t due until later in the year.
