Ken Weatherwax, the actor who played Pugsley Addams on the 1960s television show The Addams Family, died Sunday of an apparent heart attack. He was 59.
Weatherwax got his start in Hollywood by appearing in several commercials, and eventually landed the role of Pugsley, the striped-shirt and shorts wearing son of Morticia and Gomez Addams. The Addams Family only aired for two seasons, but Weatherwax said that was enough to typecast him and it was difficult to find work after the show went off the air.
After graduating high school, Weatherwax enlisted in the U.S. Army, his family said, and he later worked as a grip for Universal Studios. He is survived by a brother, niece, and nephew.
