The official cronut recipe from pastry chef Dominique Ansel may take three days to make, but the grilled cheese crescent dougnut (for legal reasons, it can't be called a cronut) only takes a few minute to prepare.
The food blog Oh, Bite It! has created the grilled cheese "crescent donut" using only Pillsbury crescent dough sheets and Velveeta cheese slices. It's certainly not the painstaking undertaking of rolling out cronut dough, but if all you want is a twist on an American classic, the recipe will do just the trick.
To create the cheesy masterpiece, just roll out the crescent dough, add a layer of cheese slices, and top it with an additional dough layer. Fold the dough in half, cut them into circles, and cook in oil for a decadent treat. Get the full recipe over at Oh, Bite It!.
