"There's no such thing as perfection when it comes to human rights regardless of whatever country you're in," a spokesperson for China's Foreign Ministry said today in response to a journalist's question about the unrest in Ferguson, Missouri. "We have to improve the record of human rights and promote the cause of human rights. We can learn from each other in this area."
China doesn't typically criticize the internal affairs of other nations, The Wall Street Journal pointed out. But given the U.S.'s history of reprimanding China over its (dismal) human rights record, I guess it couldn't keep itself from taking a jab.
