Katy Perry will perform at next year's Super Bowl
Billboard's sources have confirmed that Katy Perry will perform at the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show.
Speculation about Perry performing at the Super Bowl started in August when rumors swirled that the NFL had shortlisted the pop singer, along with Coldplay and Rihanna, to perform at the event.
The news also comes after the "pay to play" controversy, in which the NFL reportedly wanted artists to pay to perform at the event. Perry directly addressed the idea on Saturday, telling ESPN that she's "not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl."

Billboard cited Perry's "family-friendly catalog" and her worldwide popularity as potential reasons for the NFL's decision.
