NFL forgoes Roman numerals for new Super Bowl 50 logo

The Roman numerals now have 614 days to plan a nice vacation. The NFL announced that it won't be using a sole "L" for the 50th Super Bowl logo. It will instead use a number, as seen below.

The league has used Roman numerals in every game since Super Bowl V in 1971. But the NFL's design gurus decided the "L" isn't "as pleasing to the eye." It also looks like it stands for "loser," but that's just us. Roman numbers will return for Super Bowl 51, er LI, in 2017. -- Jordan Valinsky
