Several companies, including American Airlines, Delta, and Apple, are joining in a chorus of calls asking Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer to veto a proposed bill that would let businesses deny service based on its owner's religious views. Critics charge that the controversial measure would allow organizations to discriminate against gays. American Airlines CEO Doug Parker said if the bill is signed into law it "would jeopardize all that has been accomplished so far" and threaten the state's economy.

Despite the brouhaha, sources told NBC News that Gov. Brewer is likely to veto the bill.
