Poll: Americans want Obama to focus on domestic policy ahead of SOTU

A new poll from the Pew Research Center ahead of tonight's State of the Union address reveals that 67 percent of Americans are more concerned with U.S. domestic policy than with foreign policy. Only one in five Americans, meanwhile, wants President Obama to focus more on foreign policy than on domestic issues.
During Obama's State of the Union address, he is expected to unveil his plan to reshape tax code and to discuss his plan for free community college. According to Pew's poll, the most important issues for Americans include domestic issues, defending the U.S. against terrorism, and economic recovery.
Americans highly value cybersecurity, too: 91 percent of those polled agreed that "consumers have lost control over how personal information is collected and used by companies." Obama will likely announce initiatives for better cybersecurity for both the U.S. government and businesses, as well as for protecting students' data at U.S. schools, in tonight's address.
