U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Stuart Jones announced Thursday that American and coalition airstrikes have killed more than 6,000 ISIS fighters. ISIS has a total of 9,000 to 18,000 fighters, according to U.S. intelligence estimates.
Jones told the Al Arabiya News Channel that the airstrikes were "devastating" to ISIS, adding that the statistics prove the terrorist group's "inability to supply forces inside Iraq." Jones also said that more than 1,000 ISIS vehicles have been destroyed.
Secretary of State John Kerry told reporters in London that the airstrikes have "halted" ISIS' momentum. On Wednesday, meanwhile, Kurdish forces in Iraq said they broke an ISIS supply line between Iraq and Syria with the use of airstrikes.
