Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday said the U.S. would continue to aid Ukraine in its war with pro-Russian separatists, though he did not say whether that help would take the form of lethal assistance.
"I have no doubt that additional assistance, of economic kind and other kinds, will be going to Ukraine," Kerry said on Meet the Press, adding that, "we do so understanding that there is no military solution."
Last week, the Obama administration said it was considering sending lethal aid to Ukraine for the first time since the conflict began. The leaders of Ukraine, Russia, France, and Germany are to meet Wednesday in Minsk, Belarus, for peace talks aimed at reaching a diplomatic resolution to the conflict. —Jon Terbush
