Newly discovered Dr. Seuss book to be published in July
Parents: If you're on your 800th reading Hop on Pop or Green Eggs and Ham, today brings some welcome news: Later this year, Random House will be publishing a brand new Dr. Seuss book based on a recently discovered manuscript by the author.
The new story, titled What Pet Should I Get?, will be published on July 28. The book is based on sketches discovered by Dr. Seuss' widow, Audrey Geisel, and his secretary, Claudia Prescott, when they were cleaning out his office space.
"While undeniably special, it is not surprising to me that we found this because Ted always worked on multiple projects and started new things all the time — he was constantly writing and drawing and coming up with ideas for new stories," Geisel said in a statement.
