On Friday, the Department of Justice announced plans to launch a criminal inquiry into Rep. Aaron Schock's (R-Ill.) expenses and business deals, after the congressman officially resigned Tuesday. Subpoenas suggest that a federal grand jury will hear testimony in early April.

Schock's announcement followed six weeks of mounting reports about the representative's questionable finances — including his "lavish" travel and entertainment expenses, and most notably, a $40,000 office makeover in the style of Downton Abbey.
