1 person dead after 'extremely dangerous' tornado hits near Tulsa

One person has died and another is in critical condition after severe weather hit Sand Springs, Oklahoma, on Wednesday.

Both victims were at a mobile home park, Tulsa World reports. At around 6:02 p.m. local time, an "extremely dangerous" tornado hit near Tulsa, and residents in the area received a warning from the National Weather Service stating, "You are in a life-threatening situation."

This tornado was one of several that touched down across Oklahoma on Wednesday, NBC News reports, and the NBC affiliate in Tulsa says that homes and vehicles have been damaged in Sand Springs and Mannford, and "complete destruction" was possible for businesses and vehicles.
