Game of Thrones and Frozen could be responsible for your friends' unique baby names
The 2014 Social Security list of the year's top baby names is out, and pop culture appears to have influenced plenty of parents.
The top boys' and girls' names in 2014 were Noah and Emma. In second place, though, were Olivia and Liam, and it's hard to believe Scandal character Olivia Pope didn't inspire at least some parents of newborn girls. Harper also rose to the 11th most-popular spot for girls, which coincides with Harper Lee's resurgence in the news, thanks to her To Kill a Mockingbird sequel.
Nameberry reports that names inspired by Game of Thrones and Frozen, including Khaleesi and Elsa, saw significant increases in popularity last year. And if you're feeling inspired by the royal family, you could always go with one of the fastest climbing boys' names, Royal. See the full list at Yahoo.
