Oprah and Letterman don't smoke weed, don't like selfies, take one anyway
If you could ask Oprah Winfrey anything in the world, maybe this wouldn't make the cut: "What do you think about smoking weed? Are you smokin'?" But that was David Letterman's query on Friday night's Late Show, and after a moment of I-can't-believe-he-asked-that facial contortions, Oprah said no, she hasn't smoked marijuana in 30 years. Letterman, it turns out, agreed, saying he hears that with the new strains, "one hit, and suddenly you're orbiting Neptune." Winfrey said she'd "be kind of scared of that."
After discussing why they stopped smoking pot, it was Winfrey's turn to ask a question of Letterman: "Do people stop you on the street for selfies?" Not so much, it turns out, but Oprah had some stories about "selfie hell," including a pretty telling one on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma. So, after basically telling fans to quit stopping her for selfies, what do you suppose she and Letterman did next? Letterman had a good line about their selfie — probably unintentionally — given Winfrey's Selma story: "I'm barely in it." Watch below. —Peter Weber
