It makes perfect sense that badass Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman is lined up to play badass Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in a biopic focused on her feminist legal work in the '70s.
But Portman had one hold-up before starting on the project: She requested that a woman direct the film, Ginsburg said at the American Constitution Society Convention.
"She said, 'I want the director to be a woman," Ginsburg recalled. "There are not enough women in this industry. There are many talented out there.' And now they do have a woman director."
