Jackass star and stunt performer Steve-O was taken into police custody Sunday night after climbing a crane at least 100 feet above Hollywood, causing emergency crews to race to the scene, police said.
A heavy rescue crew, fire trucks, and ambulances all responded, and they didn't know if the man would need to be rescued or would fall into a cushion set up by firefighters, the Los Angeles Police Department said. On Facebook, Steve-O was streaming video of himself climbing up what looked like the crane, NBC Los Angeles reports, with the caption, "Anyone want to bail me out of jail?" The post has thousands of supportive comments, as well as links to several GoFundMe pages started by fans.
